In Loving Memory of Bridget Anne Herbst (Vieira)

This page is to celebrate the life of my beloved wife Bridget and mourn the loss of a truly remarkable individual, a person who exemplified humility in every aspect of her being.

She gave up her successful career in the corporate world and decided to fulfil her life long dream and ambition by becoming a carer.

As a carer, she touched countless lives and made a difference in the world of those she encountered on her journey. She was there for individuals facing physical or mental health challenges, the elderly, or those with disabilities, offering a helping hand, a listening ear, and a comforting presence.  Her work has brought comfort, companionship, and a sense of dignity to those who needed it most and for that I will remain eternally grateful.

She was a patron of the Kirkwood Hospice (Huddersfield) and was also on the committee of Team Serenity which raises funds on behalf of the Kirkwood Hospice. All funds that are raised by Team Serenity are used specifically for specialist palliative care and for families with Loved Ones who face end of life. This again is an example of her caring and nurturing nature.

We remember and honor a soul who walked this earth with grace, compassion, and a quiet strength that touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was as person who had immovable Faith and full Trust in God. She firmly believed that God always had a Plan and aspired to her life according to Gods will by revealing the fruits of the Spirit.

Galatians 5 vs 22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

To be humble is a rare quality in this world, where self-promotion often overshadows genuine humility. Yet, our dear departed Bridget embodied the faith and the needs of others before her own.

Her humility was not a weakness but a source of strength. It was through her humility that she cultivated deep connections with people from all walks of life. She listened with genuine interest, treating every person as an equal, and valuing their opinions and  experiences.

Her presence brought comfort, and her wisdom was quietly imparted, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to cross her path.

In a world filled with noise, she stood as a beacon of calm and tranquility. She did not boast about her accomplishments or seek validation and praise from external sources. Instead, she found contentment in the simple joys of life, cherishing the beauty of nature, and finding solace in the company of loved ones.

She understood that true happiness does not lie in material possessions or external accolades but in the richness of relationships and the beauty of the human spirit. Her humility was a gift she bestowed upon me and many  others. She inspired countless individuals to embrace their own humility, to recognize that true strength lies not in dominating others, but in uplifting them.

She taught us that true greatness comes not from exalting ourselves but from lifting others up, and that the mark we leave on this world is not measured by our achievements, but by the lives we touch along the way.

As we remember this humble soul, let us carry her legacy forward. Let us remember the lessons she taught us and strive to emulate her humility in our own lives.

Let us honor her memory by treating one another with kindness, empathy, and respect, by fostering a spirit of unity and compassion in our communities, our friendships, our families and our homes and by valuing the inherent worth and dignity of every individual.

Though she may no longer walk among us, the impact of her humility will continue to ripple through the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who were touched by her gentle presence.

We have said goodbye to a humble person, but we also celebrate the indelible mark she left on our lives and on the world. Her soul has found eternal peace, and may we find solace in the memories and lessons she has left behind.

Farewell, my dear humble wife, friend and soulmate. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever live on in our hearts.

Your Loving Husband

André
